HSCI anode is made from the iron alloy which contains 14% to 18% silicon with excellent performance of acid and alkalis resistance. A porous and semi-conductive film of silicon dioxide (SiO₂) forms on the exterior of the anodes to reduce the rate of consumption.
ASTM A518 Grade 3 alloy is particularly suited for electrolytes rich with chloride ions, where the level of chromium is elevated to enhance anode performance.

Anode Configuration
Jennings Anodes TA Anodes can be supplied bare, with a specified cable center connected. Cable can be either in a single length or tubular anodes can be connected in a string formation. Anode can also be supplied cable connected and pre-packed in galvanized steel canisters.

HSCI have a low consumption rate, in addition the centrifugal casting method eliminates the need for a pouring bush. This area on a statically cast anode has been shown to be weak and more prone to accelerated corrosion.
